Become a prospective chef at home with IOS 18.4’s Apple News Food

Apple released the first public beta of iOS 18.4 on February 24, more than a month after the release of iOS 18.3. While beta versions of iOS update can include features that do not do it on your iPhone, Apple announced on February 21 that one feature in beta will be available when IOS 18.4 comes out in April: A new Apple News section called Food.

The new section will have recipes from publications such as good maintenance, food and wine and more. You will be able to find other stories related to food and restaurant there.

Beta developers and testers can enter this feature now, but since it’s still in beta it may be wrong or have other issues. If you want to try the new feature now, before it is released to the general public in April, I recommend downloading beta iOS 18.4 to something other than your primary device.

Here’s what you need to know about Apple’s IOS 18.4 news food.

What is Apple news food?

Apple News Food is a new section in the Apple News app that will be available across iPhone in April with IOS release 18.4.

“With the new food feature, users will be able to find stories curated by Apple News editors, as well as browse, search and filter tens of recipes in the recipe catalog – with new recipes added daily,” Apple wrote in an email.

How can I get into Apple news food?

1 Open news.
2 knock successor to the lower right corner of your screen.
3 knock Food.

Apple

You will see the options for Recipe catalog AND Preserved recipes Near the top of the page, and you can move down to see recipes and other items. You can also tap the fork and knife symbol in the upper right corner of your screen at any time while you are in the food section to access Recipe catalog. Once you are inside Recipe catalogThe fork and knife symbol will be replaced with a box symbol you can tap to enter your Preserved recipes.

To save recipes, tap a recipe you care about and then tap over Preserve. The recipe will be stored in your Preserved recipes.

How much does Apple news food cost?

The food section is free for everyone, but the free version only allows you access to some stories and recipes every day. With the free version of this part, I could get into recipes like mill dollars sauce balls and this cucumber-Avokado-Tomato sandwich. I’m not a delightful meal and will gladly try both of these, but I couldn’t get into many other recipes that I was interested in free version.

However, if you agree on Apple News Plus (13 dollars per month) You have full access to the food section. This means that you can browse a catalog of thousands of recipes and articles, save recipes in your digital cooking book and use off -line recipes. The recipe catalog makes it easy to find ideas for dinner, vegetarian recipes and even cocktails.

Can you do anything else with Apple news food?

You will also be able to use what Apple calls Cook Mode on Apple News Food, which will show step -by -step instructions on the full screen on your device. You will see one step at a time, but you will need to slide on your screen to go to the next step. I tried to ask Syria to go to the next step, and the digital assistant ignored my prayers. This can be a problem if you are cooking and your hands are covered with flour, fat or anything else you do not want to get on your phone, but you still have to go to the next step.

Apple

This feature does not prevent your iPhone from going to sleep or fade on the screen. Which is beautiful because then you don’t have to unlock your phone every minute to make sure you are following the instructions (not that I’ve ever done it or anything).

Cook Mode can also show you a full list of ingredients for each recipe by tapping ingredient near the top of your screen. This means you don’t have to write a list of ingredients next time you go to the store.

However, you cannot copy and paste these ingredients or instructions from the news in another application, such as notes. You can share a link to the recipe, or save it as a quick note, but if you want to ask your friend or room partner to get some ingredients while they are out, you can’t easily copy them and glue those ingredients to a message.

To access cooking mode, tap a recipe in the app you want to try, then tap over cook.

Remember, this feature is still in beta, so Apple has long changed or fix it. I’m hoping Apple adds a Syria integration, so I don’t remove my phone in meat fats. Beta developers and testers can try Apple News Food now, and everyone will have access to it in April when Apple releases iOS 18.4.
